"He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him  He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem... But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed." -Isaiah 53:2-5

Innocent : free from guilt or sin especially through lack of knowledge of evil : blameless (Merriam Webster dictionary definition)

He was tender, He was despised, He was rejected, He was bruised, He was piereced, He is love.

The most frusterating and confusing question I can think of involving Jesus is "why?" We all have questions for God- "Why does this happen?" "Why did you do that?" " Why did you create me?" ... the list goes on and on. But most of these questions start with "why". Why did God send an innocent baby to take care of the sins of the world? The burden must have been incredible. Why didn't God send a warrior like weapon that burst through a stream of fire and lightning? Why is the whole story of Jesus so humble?

We will never ever be able to comprehend the way God thinks. If we can't even comprehend his love- his mind is beyond reach! If it was our choice we wouldn't have sent a baby, in a town that really didn't care. If it was our choice- there would be no shepards, and Jesus would probably have been born into some royal family. If it was our choice an innocent man wouldn't have died. The story wouldn't have worked- we would be dead, there would be nothing to witness about, the burden of our sins would be too much for us to handle. Imagine that.

The birth of Jesus is amazing, stunning, and like no other story ever told or written. Jesus- conquering death, the hope of the world, our greatest love, and the purest joy. Celebrating Christmas we only get a tiny little look at what God really did to send his son. Jesus is the greatest gift we will ever recieve.ever. We have never deserved it, we never will. Nothing tops what God has given us. And what is amazing, is that this gift lives forever, is faithful, and will love us no matter what we do. Merry Christmas!  -Sharhaiah
